How to Download Instagram Reels on Android

Save public Reels to your Android phone in a minute — no extra app — and find them in your gallery afterwards.

Instagram's own "Download" option only works for some Reels and adds a watermark. If you want a clean copy of a public Reel on your Android phone — to watch offline, keep a recipe, or save a memory — you can do it from your browser in about a minute. Here's exactly how.

Before you start

Step 1: Copy the Reel's link

  1. Open the Reel in the Instagram app.
  2. Tap the paper-plane icon (Share) on the right side of the screen.
  3. In the sheet that opens, scroll the bottom row and tap Copy link. You'll see a small "Link copied" message.

If you're browsing Instagram in Chrome instead of the app, just copy the address from the address bar — it looks like instagram.com/reel/….

Step 2: Open Zovan and paste the link

  1. Open your browser and go to the Instagram downloader.
  2. Tap Paste. Chrome may ask for permission to read your clipboard — tap Allow. If it doesn't, long-press the box and choose Paste.
  3. Tap Fetch. After a few seconds a pop-up shows the Reel's cover, creator and the qualities available.

Step 3: Choose a quality and download

Tap your choice. A "Downloading… please wait" window shows the progress, then Chrome saves the file and shows a download notification.

Step 4: Find the Reel on your phone

Android saves downloads to the Download folder. You can reach it in three ways:

From there you can move the video to an album, share it on WhatsApp, or trim it in your video editor.

Make it faster next time

In Chrome, tap the three-dot menu and choose Add to Home screen (or Install app). Zovan then opens from your home screen like a normal app, so the next Reel takes two taps. Our install guide covers this for every phone.

A quick note on respect

Reels are someone's work. Keeping a copy for yourself is one thing; re-uploading it to your own account is another. If you share a Reel, share the original link or tag the creator.
