Videos, GIFs and quality on X
X re-encodes every video into several resolutions — often 480p, 720p and, for newer uploads, 1080p. Zovan shows all of them so you can choose. "GIFs" on X are actually short silent MP4 videos, and that's how they download: they play everywhere and are much smaller than a real GIF.
What can't be downloaded
- Protected accounts — posts with a padlock are only visible to approved followers.
- Posts marked as sensitive that X only shows after logging in.
- Spaces (live audio rooms) and some live broadcasts.
- Deleted posts or posts from suspended accounts.
If the post contains a link to YouTube or another site, the video isn't hosted on X — open the original source instead.
Posts with more than one video
A single post can hold up to four videos or images. Zovan fetches the first video in the post. To save a different one, open that specific video full-screen and copy its link, which usually ends in /video/2, /video/3 and so on.
Saving on your device
The file is a standard MP4, so it plays on every phone, computer and smart TV. Android saves it to Download; iPhone saves it to the Files app, from where Share → Save Video moves it to Photos.
Credit where it's due
News clips, sports moments and memes spread fast on X, and the original poster often loses credit. If you repost a downloaded clip, link or tag the source account.
Downloading on a computer
On Windows, Mac or Linux the steps are the same: open the post on x.com in your browser, copy the address from the address bar, paste it into Zovan and press Fetch. Files go to your Downloads folder — press Ctrl+J (Windows/Linux) or ⌘+Shift+J (Mac) in Chrome or Edge to see them. Any modern player opens the MP4; if one doesn't, the free VLC player plays everything.
Long videos
Subscribers on X can post much longer videos than the standard limit. Long videos are bigger files and take longer to fetch; choose 720p if you don't need full HD, and keep the page open while the progress bar runs.
