Video Pins and image Pins
Pinterest has two kinds of Pins, and Zovan handles both:
- Video Pins — short clips and Idea Pins with video. These download as MP4 in the best resolution Pinterest provides.
- Image Pins — Zovan saves the original-size image instead of the small preview you get from a screenshot, which is much better for printing a recipe card or a pattern.
Some Pins are simply bookmarks pointing to another website. If the image or video actually lives on that site, Pinterest may only have a preview — opening the source site gives the best result.
Getting the right link
Pinterest links copied from the app sometimes come as pin.it short links. If a short link doesn't work, open it in your browser first so it expands to the full pinterest.com/pin/… address, and paste that. Links to a board or a profile won't work — Zovan needs the link to a single Pin.
Why save Pins at all?
Pins disappear when the original account deletes them, and offline copies are handy in the kitchen, in a workshop or on a site visit without signal. Saving a recipe video or a sewing tutorial means it's there when you need it.
Respect the original creator
A lot of Pinterest content is made by small creators and bloggers who rely on visits to their site. If a Pin helps you, visit the source link too — and don't re-pin downloaded images as if they were yours.
Downloading on a computer
On Windows, Mac or Linux the steps are the same: open the Pin in your browser, copy the address from the address bar, paste it into Zovan and press Fetch. Files go to your Downloads folder — press Ctrl+J (Windows/Linux) or ⌘+Shift+J (Mac) in Chrome or Edge to see them. Any modern player opens the MP4; if one doesn't, the free VLC player plays everything.
Organising what you save
If you save a lot of recipes, workouts or craft ideas, make a folder for each topic on your phone or computer and rename files as you save them ("banana-bread.mp4" is easier to find than a random number). It turns a pile of downloads into a personal offline library.
