Which Facebook videos can be downloaded
Facebook decides who can see each video. Zovan can only download videos that are visible to everyone — the little globe icon next to the post date means "Public". That covers most Pages, public figures, news outlets, public groups and Reels.
- Works: public videos on Pages and profiles, Facebook Reels, Facebook Watch, videos in public groups.
- Doesn't work: videos shared with "Friends" or custom lists, private groups, Messenger videos, and paid or subscriber-only content.
Live videos can be saved after the broadcast has ended and Facebook has processed the replay.
HD or SD?
Facebook stores most videos in two or more sizes. "HD" is usually 720p or 1080p; "SD" is around 360p–480p and a fraction of the size. If you're saving a long video — a talk, a match highlight, a church service — on mobile data, SD is often the sensible choice. For anything you'll watch on a TV or laptop, pick HD.
Copying the right link
The most common reason a Facebook link fails is that it points to the post or the feed rather than the video itself. If you copied a link from a post with several photos and one video, open the video full-screen first and copy the link from there. Links that contain /videos/, /reel/, /watch/ or start with fb.watch are the ones you want.
Where the file goes
On Android the MP4 lands in your Download folder and appears in the gallery. On iPhone it goes to Files → Downloads; open it and tap Share → Save Video to add it to Photos — the iPhone guide has the details.
A word on sharing
Saving a video of your own event, a recipe or a tutorial to watch later is what Zovan is for. Re-uploading other people's videos to your own Page can break Facebook's rules and copyright law — share the original post instead.
