Most failed downloads come down to a handful of causes, and almost all of them can be fixed in seconds. Work down this list — it's ordered from most to least common.
1. The post is private or needs a login
Message: "This post is private or needs a login."
Zovan only sees what a logged-out visitor sees. Private accounts, Stories, Friends-only posts, private groups and subscriber content are hidden from logged-out visitors, so they can't be downloaded. Test: open the link in a private/incognito browser window. If the platform asks you to log in, that's the reason. Only the uploader can change it.
2. You copied the wrong link
Message: "This link isn't supported."
Links to a profile, a board, a search page or your feed don't point to a specific video. Open the video itself (full-screen) and use Share → Copy link. Good links contain things like /reel/, /video/, /status/, /pin/ or /comments/.
3. The post was deleted
Message: "This post is unavailable."
If the creator deleted the post or the platform removed it, there's nothing left to download. Check whether the link still plays in the app.
4. The video is blocked in a region
Message: "This content is blocked in this region."
Some videos — often music and sports — are restricted by country. Our server may be in a different country from you, so occasionally a video plays for you but not for the server, or the other way round.
5. The platform is temporarily limiting requests
Message: "The platform is temporarily blocking requests."
Platforms sometimes slow down or block requests for a while. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it keeps happening for one platform, it's usually fixed by our next update.
6. The link is from an unsupported site
Zovan supports Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Reddit, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Twitch, Bluesky and many more — but not YouTube. If a Reddit or X post only links to YouTube, the video isn't hosted on that platform.
7. The download is very slow
The progress window shows the speed and time left. Big files — long Twitch broadcasts or 4K videos — simply take time. To speed things up: use Wi-Fi, choose a lower resolution such as 720p, and keep the page open (on phones, keep the screen on).
8. The video has no sound
Check that you didn't choose Image or a video-only option, and that the original has sound (play it in the app). For Reddit specifically, see Reddit video has no sound.
9. You can't find the downloaded file
- Android: Files app → Downloads, or Google Photos → Library → Download.
- iPhone/iPad: Files app → Browse → Downloads. Then Share → Save Video to move it to Photos.
- Windows/Mac: your Downloads folder, or press Ctrl+J / ⌘+Shift+J in the browser.
Still not working?
Try once more after a minute, then try another post from the same platform. If no posts from a platform work at all, let us know through the contact page with the link and the message you saw — it helps us fix things faster.
